Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, in a launch, noted that Lagos state will continue to grow until it become the Africa’s third largest economy before he dies.
He revealed this at a book launch titled “Making Africa Work”, authored by the former President and three others.
The Government of Lagos State is working hard towards making the state an economic hub,” Obasanjo said.
” (Even though) people said I look like someone who is in the departure lounge.
” Lagos will become the third largest economy before I take my boarding pass,” He said.
Obasanjo also said that Africa is not a poor continent, adding that the continent is only poor by choice.
” Africa is poorly managed,” he said, adding that, “We are poor by choice (and) we will also get out of that poverty by choice.” He said.
