NDLEA Attacked, 3 Officers dead In Kogi

On Friday evening gunmen ambushed officers of National Drug Law Enforcement Agent [NDLEA], in Okene, Kogi the State Capital, three staff on duty were killed at the very spot.

This sad event took place on Friday evening at around 8:30 pm with six officers on duty at one of their post around the main gate of the Federal College of Education [FCE] Okene where Onwumere Nicholas; Peter Ebun and Abdulrahman Musa lost their lives why on duty.

A witness, Mr Joel Abraham narrated that the incident took place about 8:30 pm which left about three officers of the NDLEA dead and the remaining three escape the incident, so he told newsmen.

He also revealed that the gunmen ran away with two riffles belonging to the deceased officers.

The Kogi State Commandant of NDLEA, Alhaji Idris Bello, confirmed that three of his men fell to the guns of the hoodlums in Okene, while they were on patrol on Friday evening.

Bello added that NDLEA together with other sister agents in the state have pull all necessary plans in motion to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous act.” he stated.
