Killer Herdsmen: Former President Obasanjo Pays Visit To Benue State

Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Saturday arrived Makurdi, Benue the state capital, to condole with the wonderful people and government of the state over recent herdsmen activities.

Recollect more than 24 persons were recently killed in Omosu community following herdsmen attack.

President Buhari is expected to pay visit to Benue state, early next week.

Ex-President Obasanjo was welcomed at the airport by the state Governor, Samuel Ortom and other top government officials in the state.

Not less than 158 persons have been reported killed in the state as a result of sustained herdsmen attacks in the state since the January 11th attack that led to a mass burial and protest by youths in Makurdi, the state capital.

The ex- President is expected to visit the mass burial grave site and also meet stakeholders at the government house.

Obasanjo is also expected to visit the Internally Displaced Persons [IDPs] camp located in Agan Toll Gate, where displaced residents of the state are taking refuge.
