Biafra: Fani Kayode condemns the detention of IPOB women

Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has reacted on the arrest of female members of the Indigenous People of Biafra [IPOB], and called for their immediate release, in Imo State.

IPOB, also called for immediate release of the women, whom they said were in the military custody and were taken to Etche local government in Rivers State.

The arrest occurred during a peaceful protest to demand the release of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Fani on his Twitter page said, “I condemn the arrest and detention of IPOB women by the security forces in Owerri simply for participating in a peaceful demonstration in support of Nnamdi Kanu and asking for his whereabouts.

“I call on the government to release the women and let them go home to their families.”
