Donatus Nwankpa, APC chairman has re-gain freedom

The All Progressives Congress, APC, chairman that was abducted some days back, in Abia, Chief Donatus Nwankpa, has gotten his freedom back.

Reports gathered that his abductors later released his aide who sustained some injuries.

However, his party men had pleaded with his abductors to also released him unconditionally, saying he is a good man that is loved by all and sundry in the state.

Also, the Publicity Secretary of the Party in the state Mr. Benedict Godson, told newsmen on Friday that Nwankpa was released from the kidnappers’ den unconditionally during late hours of Thursday.

He disclosed that no ransom was paid for his release, adding that he was in good health when they released him.

According to him: “We thank God for his safe return and we appreciate all those who in one way or the other contributed to his safe return.

“We also want to thank our governorship candidate and other leaders of the party in the state for standing with us since he was kidnapped.”

However, the Commissioner of Police in the state Mr. Chris Ezike, confirmed that Nwankpa was released unhurt by his abductors.
