Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday departed Nigeria for Egypt, were he will be attending the Peace and Development Forum in Aswan, Egypt holding on 11th and 12th of December, 2019.
President Buhari’s departure was made known on the verified Twitter handle of the Government of Nigeria.
“Today, President @MBuhari departs Abuja to participate in the Peace and Development Forum in Aswan, Egypt holding on 11th and 12th December 2019. #PMBinEgypt.,” the tweet reads.
A statement by Buhari’s spokesperson, Femi Adesina had said, “The initiative is being launched by the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in his capacity as the Chairman of the African Union (AU) and as an advocate of Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development in Africa – a recurring theme of his tenure as the AU’s Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want, and the search for African solutions to African problems.
