COVID- 19: Confirmed cases of coronavirus rises to 111 in Nigeria as President orders lockdown

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night, confirmed 14 new cases of coronavirus in the country.

This was made known via a tweet in their verified Twitter page.

“Fourteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Lagos and 5 FCT.

As at 09:30 pm 29th March there are 111 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death,” the statement read.

A breakdown of cases as at 9.30pm today, shows that Lagos still has the highest number with 68 patients.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) follows with 21.

Others states affected include Ogun, Enugu, Ekiti, Oyo, Edo, Osun, Bauchi, Benue, Kaduna and Rivers.

This comes hours after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered a 14-day complete lockdown in Lagos and Abuja.
